The US Needs YOU..TODAY

In lieu of circular arguments and therapeutic venting provided by IMDB, I suggest getting more bang for your taxpayer buck by contacting your Reps. Don't like a policy? send a quick email to your Senator or Congressperson. Or, you can call.

It DOES make a difference (less so if you just blast out to folks who aren't your reps, cuz they will just forward your concerns to the appropriate congressional person). They do take their constituents seriously, and do keep tabs, like: 400 calls pro whatever, 55 calls con whatchamicallit. Plus, you will get a letter in return -- if you don't, you have a Rep who operates a sloppy, ineffective office.

As such, I call out all Americans to contact their Senators today (the earlier the better). There is a vote scheduled for Scott Pruitt. If you give two licks about protecting our rivers, lakes, oceans, AIR then check out this dude's record. This shouldn't be a partisan issue, unless you're all for the dude that drug his feet on enforcing regs on poultry farms (coincidentally, big donors) allowing over 200,000 tons of chicken "debris" (an elegant term for $hit) to be-foul (ha) rivers and rendering some city water unsafe.

Remember Flint and the lead crisis? Pruitt thinks it should be ok for some Mercury to be allowed to be disposed in/near rivers/streams as seen fit by companies. When asked at his committee hearing what was an "acceptable" level of mercury in drinking water, he said he did not know. If he doesn't know, then how can he know it's safe at any level? And ask yourself: what level do you feel safe injesting, or giving to your kids/grandkids? Do you think it's best to defer to a corporation -- with shareholders and the bottom-line as the deciding factor --to have the final say in what that level is safe? Gosh, there are never any problems when corporations operate w/out any independent oversight.

It's no secret he simply copied/pasted the oil industry language when suing the EPA over a dozen times. Oh and guess how much $$$ he got from those folks?

Maybe of particular interest to any American, he refused to provide any documents per FOIA requests and not until yesterday was ordered by an OK court to provide thousands of documents. He was not properly vetted (such a surprise coming from the Trumtin team), & was only voted out of committee by Republicans (as the Dems protested his nomination).

Republican Sen. Susan Collins has already spoken out publicly, announcing she will vote against him. Look, over-regulation is a burden to our economy, and a lot of times unintentionally effects small businesses more than the larger intended targets (ala Dodd-Frank). But an all out roll-back of logical, rational, rules that have resulted in cleaner air, rivers, streams and protected (a vital environmental tent pole) wetlands. The sky above LA used to be like Beijing. Lakes were the butt of jokes in terms of two-headed fish and unsafe to dip your toes into. We used to agree w/out a partisan snits that it's just plain common sense for our quality of life, and the nation's sustained viability, to protect our lands from the cost of unchecked greed.

Contact your Senators today! Ask them to err on the side of clean air/water and stop this mis-matched nominee. It's like the fox in charge of the henhouse!

Sorry....Can't hear you over the media unpacking the dozens of indisputable "alternative "facts" the Twatter-in-Cheif rectally retrieved yesterday.

I'm loving this WINNING!!!!!

And, really, thank you for giving me cause to keep this topping the threads. Smooches!
