Does him cancelling the credit card payment and not having downloaded anything obscene...

… ultimately mean that he paid for nothing, didn't fund that dastardly evil organization and, whilst certainly in the wrong and to an extent worthy of a caution, but unlike some actual either offenders or those who have used such sites in more devious a manner etc, he hasn't done TOO great a damage and that all he said, and the fact that police found no other evidence on his computers, means he is somewhat in the clear and can at least now get on with his life?

NOTE - some people ARE divided on this. Even with all that knowledge, some say he was in a terrible wrong, others say he made a huge mistake but him cancelling it means he hasn't funded anything. Who is right, as in, correct here, cheers.
