Its interesting and disturbing also that computers and an internet in certain cases can be used as a weapon too.

In addition to that, yeah these types of matters and crimes have happened decades earlier with other media formats, but let's say same or similar matter existed in the 60s or the 70s, when computers and internet perhaps did NOT exist like they do today. Would there have been a similar type of format and let's say Pete Townshend by his own admission attempted to do any kind of "research" and had to illegally enter his bank details to access something, would he have done it and would there even have been a possibility in doing so?

As wrong as it no doubt of course was and generally is.

And let's not get into too many details etc but just talk overall, thanks.

Plus, notice how even seemingly normal and otherwise ordinary and decent people including famous ones can, if what Pete Townshend said about this in interviews is overall true, at times at least, make, for whatever reasons, TERRIBLE mistakes, for which they may even get into LEGAL trouble and have society cast doubt on their morality as well and get angry at them, and even more so...

Sometimes even YEARS later after the act. (Townshend had the dubious "moral desire" to access the site and leave his card details in 1999 and was arrested for it years later in 2003. I wonder, was he SURPRISED that he WAS arrested for it, did he even remember it if at all? Or was he aware of it already like that and oh well...)

There are indeed many official and even downright evil monsters in humanity out there often doing wrongful stuff willingly, intentionally and for their own extremely selfish reasons and out of sadistic spite.

But sometimes others might get caught in certain webs and do bad things because they happen to not know better.

Although Townshend also claimed that he himself was a victim of such abuse and has even told sources that he attempted to find his own images on such sites, as wrong as it still was. So there maybe further gray areas in terms of whether or not he is officially bad however troubled he might be and wrong to do what he did however once etc.
