shareWhat a bizarre question OP. I don't understand why people seem to have this confusion when it comes to people from Spanish speaking countries because if she were born in Jamaica or Barbados or Some other Caribbean island you certainly wouldn't be asking if she were black.
Do we need to have a discussion about race vs ethnicity vs nationality? She is clearly a black woman(don't understand the confusion) who is ethnically Cuban and her nationality is American. Hope that helps.
Its ridiculous. Someone added a "trivia" tidbit on the Guess Who movie page pointing out that Zoe Saldana is not African American, but Dominican.
Yet if say Nia Long (who is Trinidadian) played her role, I'm sure they would not be compelled to point this out.
