One thing I will give him credit for...
... he always tries to make you think in his films.
The execution might be below par at times, however there's always something thought provoking in his films.
They lose their shine soon after seeing them but they certainly are interesting the first time.
shareI wouldn't say that's true for all his films. I have watched both The Village and Signs several times. The Village in particular is a surprisingly thoughtful movie.
I've also watched Unbreakable at least four or five times.
I will agree that his more recent films have little replayability, except perhaps for Old, which might be worth an extra viewing or two.
