They lose their shine soon after seeing them but they certainly are interesting the first time.
shareI wouldn't say that's true for all his films. I have watched both The Village and Signs several times. The Village in particular is a surprisingly thoughtful movie.
I've also watched Unbreakable at least four or five times.
I will agree that his more recent films have little replayability, except perhaps for Old, which might be worth an extra viewing or two.
He's a good auteur who doesn't make good movies, if that makes sense. He definitely has a good grasp on style but his substance is always lacking.
