He literally said about going to an all-black neighborhood in Philadelphia: “We walk into Planet of the Apes ... We walked into Africa, dude. We walked in the door and there was no white people.”
Why is the concept that some people can use a word that you can't so hard for you? You know why white people shouldn't say it, and the reason the black people do is to take the sting out of it. They made it their own because they have that right.
It's the same reason that you don't go around calling women bitches but a woman can call her friends her bitches.
So if we say bitch that content should be censored?
It's so weird that in 2022 there are "forbidden" words. It's like it's Harry Potter and we can't mention Lord Voldemort.
If the goal was to "take the sting out" that has already proven to be a failure if it still causes an issue to this day, even when no offense is intended. It also firmly cements racial separations when you have different sets of rules for different color people.
They took the word back, just like queers did, if you can't understand this basic concept of why they can use it and you can't, you're really ignorant.
That wasn't a response to anything I mentioned. It's also your 4th or 5th time saying it. It has nothing to do with being "ignorant" and not understanding, I just disagree with it for varying reasons. If someone wants to "take the word back", that's cool, but they don't get to take it back from MY vocabulary. That word is ingrained in my thinking since 2pac. I'm playing a videogame, and everyone from white people to Asians to aliens and robots is a "nigga". There's absolutely no racial connotation or emotional attachment to the word for me, or anyone I get along with. So according to identity politics, I'm expected to walk on eggshells and censor myself before speaking. Fuck you, I'm not doing it. I also have dreadlocks, and plenty of people said white people "aren't allowed" to have dreadlocks. So that would mean white people have to comb and cut their hair but black people don't. I can't give a shit about all these arbitrary rules. I have to care about principles, and those always apply across the board.
Aww you don't get to call people the N word. I have absolutely no sympathy for willingly being an asshole. Who cares if it doesn't mean something bad to you? It's hurtful with good reason to others and if you can't have the human compassion to respect that then it makes you look like you're stupid and a jerk.
That's the hypocrisy of this shit. If the N word so horrible that it dare not be spoken, then pretty much every black hip hop and rapper should be pulled from Amazon Music, iTunes, Youtube and Spotify... but they aren't doing that... And don't but blacks can say it, because you still have the likes of Justin Bieber and Eminem that have gone untouched by this crap. The whole thing has nothing to do with the N word, that is just more smoke to try and take away from what is really going on... and that is Amazon and iTunes trying to crush Spotify so that you have one less option for music in the world.
It's not that it burns, it's just that it's dumb. I get "taking it back" or whatever and if certain black people want to use it to describe other black people, I couldn't care less. No one is arguing for the right for white people to throw it at every black person they see in the street. It just should not be off limits for use in discussion.
Personally, I find it a worrying slippery slope that there are certain words that are referred to as the "x" word. Like if a group of adults are having a discussion about a certain word, there should be no reason it cannot be said. Or if you're quoting someone that said it for instance. Clearly no one is using it in a derogatory manner or trying to offend anyone in this context.
I hope Rogan and Spotify part ways. He can get a huge payout and develop his own website for his archive of podcasts. He’ll still get a ton of listeners to follow him.
What bullshit! Have these liberal fuckheads ever worked/lived in a mostly black neighborhood? The things that come out of their mouths….and then they have the balls to pull the race card? I stand with Joe Rogan!
Absofuckinglutely! Why shouldn’t I? They’re just as racist/anti-Semitic as anyone else. What makes black people better? Have you ever lived/worked in a majority black neighborhood?
It's totally absurd. Gad Saad's entire episode was pulled just because Rogan used the n-word by naming a book title that a Black civil rights activist wrote. The context was completely justifiable. It's totally insane how the PC culture has gotten.
Use of the word n****r shouldn't be outlawed or banned as long as it's within the context of said topic and isn't used in a derogatory manner in itself. Say if you're quoting someone saying it or explaining its definition or whatnot.
