The Voice

I saw him in Riddick and I was struck with an odd familiar feeling when I heard him speak.

Then, I saw the Wings of a Dove or whatever it was called and again...there is something really familiar about him...
He kinda reminds me of Palpatine from Star Wars...

Who the crap does he sound like!?

I was struck by his voice as well. I was watching Law and Order last night and it was bugging me for a long time. I think he sounds like a combination on Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Armand Asante. You agree?

reply

You could be right....
Hmmm. I get the feeling of "dark airyness" in his voice.

Oh, I just thought of it. Roger Daltrey when he's acting.

I thought i was crazy but when i saw him on law and order and he spoke I was like this man's voice is so interesting because i never heard an accent like that. He sounds like he is from boston but not really. I just couldn't explain it. I was like i have to know where he is from. Love his voice.

ah!! I thought I was the only one! His voice is completely sexy to me too. I think it's got so much character to it..

reply

I agree...his voice is very intruiging!

You all must be quite young! Linus Roache's voice (albeit his "American" accent), his mannerisms, his gait....all reminiscent of the American actor Richard Widmark, still alive at 93! You should all look up Richard Widmark on Wiki and look at photos of him on IMDB, also look for old movies on TCM with Widmark in them...you will be floored! If I didn't know from researching both actors, I would have sworn Linus Roache was a son, grandson, nephew, etc. of Richard Widmark...but they aren't...just alike.
