shareIn movies and TV, actores are NEVER fired. The PTB annonces that they are leaving to spend more time with their familieis, or to pursue other interests. In turn, the actor issues a statement on how he/she loved the show and will miss the crew and coworkers, etc. It is a standard face saving device, just as fired executives in business and public servants in disgrace are given the option to resign.
