Will he ever play a funny guy?

I have to say that it annoys me to only see him in sad, dramatic and psychopathic roles. Why is he typecasting himself so much? Even if his movies have some funny aspects, they are still kinda depressing.

I think that this is what I would call 'pretty boy syndrome'. Just like DiCaprio or other beautiful androgynous, baby-faced looking boys or men, he seems to be scared to be liked in his roles because that would mean that he's not being taken seriously as an actor. He thinks that playing murderers, psychopaths and hobos gives him credibility and will prevent him from being a movie heartthrob that girls love to watch. It seems like he only wants a certain kind of audience to watch him so that he will never have to fear appearing in a teeny bopper mag ever again.

The problem is, I feel like I see him in the same role over and over again.
