Dude’s a hack

His style worked once for Hamilton and even that was wildly overrated. Moana was co-written by much more educated and well-rounded musicians as well as Mary Poppins. In the Heights was all Manuel - and it fucking suuuuucked. He tried to pull off that rap-style that some found interesting in Hamilton - but it fell flat on its face.

Dudes got nothing. No looks, no voice, no charisma, and minimal musical ability. He’s a playwright and that’s about it. He should stay away from music. This dudes career will crater and we’ll never hear from him again. It’s already starting. He’s a farce.

I find that hard to believe.
For example Encanto was a strong success.

That’s another great example of Lin riding on the backs of others. Each of those songs - especially the big ones - had multiple writers. “We don’t talk about Bruno” has 7 writers.

And a lot of the other songs were fairly weak and based more on rhythms than musicality. That’s what he’s best at.

He was the sole songwriter for that film, and it ended up becoming the biggest Disney soundtrack since Aladdin in the nineties.

Suffice to say he's only gone up and Disney's going to keep on using him considering they greenlit multiple projects featuring him

Music for Hamilton and Encanto was great. I can tell since I can't stop humming the different tunes for days.

Hamilton has been a sold-out Broadway success for years.
