have any of you read the book "outlander" by diana gabaldon? well if they ever made a movie from those books he would fit really well into the main character james fraser, who is scottish, red haired and big, xcept he's a little old for the part, but he fits it otherwise!

Sounds good. Im still waiting to hear more about Highlander. Apparently Kevin was approached about the part, so he said in an interview, but we have heard no more about it. Honestly, the lenghts an actor will go to, to keep his name in the spotlight.

I LOVE the Outlander series. I may have read each one five times! By the time you get to the most recent one, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, Jamie Fraser is in his 50s. I had always imagined Ray Stevenson in that part, but it wouldn't work for either Stevenson or McKidd were a film to begin at the beginning, when Jamie is in his early 20s. But what a man that Jamie Fraser is! OOF!!! Maybe it's best there is NO film adaptation of that one. I can't help but think it would be a poor substitute for the books.

yah, nothing compares to the books, im only on the second of the series now, but if they did it good the movie can be amazing! theres so much good stuff in it. the thing i want to see most is when they touch james in his sleep and he reflexively smiles, i think that would be so cute! haha

AHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you're HOOKED, lyndz! I envy you that you have almost the entire series ahead of you, as yet undiscovered. I think I'm going to start them all over, from the beginning. Hey! I've read them all five times, why not six?

James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser! OOF! What a MAN!!!

I have read them many many many times, and compare all other books with hers and none measure up. It would be very hard to see this made into a movie because they will never be able to please all of us loyal fans but Kevin McKidd is a great choice they could make him look young for his 20s I also used to think Gerard Butler but after seeing him in some goofy roles I'm not sure. There are websites devoted to this very subject and yahoo groups as well. Enjoy because according to her website we wont see the next installment until probably next year or the year after. So sad, but at least it gives me a chance to read all of them right before the new book comes out.

I wonder if Mr. McKidd knows what a major compliment it is for folks to be saying they would love to see him play James Fraser from Outlander. :)

I also am a HUGE Outlander series fan. (still need to read the last two though). I've read the first book a good 4 or 5 times. lol

NAHHHH ...

lol. I'm all for Gerry Butler as Jamie... everyone says he's too old too, but have you seen P.S. I Love You?? the part where he and his wife very first met when she was on holiday in Ireland right after graduation... his character would have been in his early to mid 20's.. and just MY oppinion but i think he pulled it off ok. Gerry's just got that boyish twinkle in his eye when he's flirting that just SCREAMS Jamie!! lol. i've seen pics of him with longer wild and untamed hair (no don't know what movie...drat) but that was the first thing i thought of...

but like i said...it's only MY oppinion... =)
