Is he considered handsome by Asian standards?
My (probably not-such-a-smart) question is caused by a conversation with a Japanese friend who lives in Korea and is married to a Korean guy.
We were discussing Korean movies and actors, and at some point I blurted out that Byung-hun Lee is the most handsome Asian actor I've ever seen, and she said something like "Yeah, he's quite popular among Europeans and Americans but I wouldn't say he's all that attractive for the locals".
I do get it might be nothing more than her personal opinion but I was wondering if it's really based on any widespread perceptions in Korea, in China, Japan, etc. Or is there something special about him only for the "non-Asians", and for the "locals" he's just a regular guy?
