shareI still don’t think it looks right even as a surname. I think Boyance is a surname in France. Probably as with every name, the spelling and pronunciation ends up being different in time. There’s a chart of her ancestral history on her mother’s side. It goes back 16 generations. All French surnames. Her mother said she used it as a first name for her daughter as the males were no longer carrying the name.
