He just can't act

I want to like Michael B, but the dude just can't act. His performances in Creed and Black Panther are on the level of Star Wars I, II, and III. He comes off as a heavily sedated angry gansta.

Going by his profile he's been landing roles since '99. Damn, if homeboy can't get any good in 20 years it's time to retire or find another career. He seems like a nice guy, but it's just really cringeworthy trying to watch him in roles where he's clearly in over his head.

Even if he is bad, why would he retire if he's still making money from it?

I agree so much I had to make an account and reply to a two year old post. First time I saw him was in chronicle, a very enjoyable and underrated movie that didn’t ask a lot from him. Fruitcake station was awards fodder, creed was nostalgia fodder because Hollywood lacks anything new and has to retread Sylvester Stallone, black panther was ok but killmonger was cast terribly. His role is raising dion is very forgettable and let’s not mention the fantastic 4.
He’s just not great, but he’s still getting paid so….idk

I thought he was good in Creed 1 and 2, other than that nothing stands out. A lot of people praised his performance in Black Panther, but I thought he was terrible. I think he has potential, just needs the right role. Maybe when he is a bit older he'll expand. He was super popular pre-covid, could happen again.

I think his style worked fine for the Creed movies but he sucked ass in Black Panther.

I have been watching him since his All My Children days and he has really come a long way. Like others on this thread, I would agree that Fruitvalle Station his is best role.
Just Mercy was pretty amazing too.
