The Ginger Snaps movies were much better than Freddy Vs. Jason. Though the best GS movie was the 2nd one which she was barely in.

Not sure what was so snobby about what you quoted. Dumb, but not snobby. She really should have known what her role was going to entail before she signed on, which makes bitching about it later seem kind of silly. Maybe her character had more depth in the script, but they cut it down, i dunno.

still anyone else would of be happy to take that role, her new projects arnt nothing anymore. I would be excited and happy to admit I was in Freddy vs Jason

reply

I don't see how that makes her a snob.

She critized the a movie she was in and it was probably the closet she got to a theater release movie. Its called being ungrateful a lot of people would of loved to have that role and be excited to say they were in a Freddy & Jason film.

What about "You do these Canadian independent movies, you build up a name, and then you've gotta do *beep* TV episodes just to pay your bills. It's hard to build your career when you keep on having to backtrack to do crappy things to pay for what you're doing." Seriously, what an inflated ego.

I saw that quote as well, and thought gee, they're are so many actors out there looking to get a bit part doing anything. I've seen her on several Canadian television shows and thought she must be doing something right to constantly get work, to see a comment like that makes her come off as ungrateful, and like someone who thinks television is beneath her, yeah that's a snob.

Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts did episodes of Friends, and Roberts also did an episode of Law and Order. I never seen where they complained about doing television.

I can see why certain actors stick with certain mediums in the entertainment business daytime dramas work at a much faster pace and most actors want out of that as soon as possible, episodic (aka series) television is also filmed at a fast pace but they have a little longer to memorize their lines, and they take longer to do movies, the actors have a much longer time to memorizes lines and get into their part.

I figure a job is a job it pays your bills and each acting job just gives you more experience to hone your skills, when an actor starts making money like a Brad Pitt, then they can take their time, pick and choose what parts they want.

It's not like there is a shortage of twenty something young women wanting to be on television.

Honestly, as bad as that out-of-context quote sounds, I don't think her sentiment is a rarity among actors.

Here is a quote from Dan Knauf (writer/creator of Carnivale) talking about how Carnivale was different from most TV shows -

Everybody on the show knew we were doing something special. Nobody delivered less than their best work. This is an exceedingly rare thing in the television world, where talented cast and crew are, quite frankly, wasted on pabulum. When asked what they're working on, the all-too-routine answer is "Some piece-of-s—-t cop show (or doctor show, or lawyer show)."

She doesn't like doing "crappy" tv shows, just like we don't like to do whatever crappy things we have to do to make a living. The difference is, her crappy thing is probably glorious compared to our crappy thing, so we don't like to hear her bitch about it. Is she still a snob if she thought those things, but didn't say them?

You saw Dingleberries?

One reason she was discontent with "Freddy vs. Jason" is that she felt they were doing anything to get her to take her clothes off. They finally had to get a body double. Scripts usually don't always tell you what you will be wearing, or won't be wearing. So, as an actress, you'll arrive at the set and find the director wants to borrow your birthday suit for the scene. Plus, scripts get rewritten all the time after actors agree to the role. And she may have had other reasons.

Even if her story wasn't true, really, have you said only good things about every (temporary) employer that you've ever had?

Maybe you're one of those people who do. I put it like this, she showed up at work, did her job, and got paid. End of contract. Is she now required to be grateful and giving thanks to them publicly all the time for her whole damn life?

You look at her on youtube especially the clip of her on the set of Ginger Snaps, and she is hardly a snob.

I don't know what you mean, Ginger Snaps, the original, was an incredible movie. Isabelle is an actress who had her most successful role very early in her career. She must have been expecting very good things afterward, and I cut her a lot of slack for feeling a let down.
