He is clearly dedicated to film as he changes so much for films, I can't believe that was Hardy in Bronson (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), he gained so much muscle for the roles, similer to De Niro when he prepared for Raging Bull (1980) and Cape Fear (1991).

He has a certain masculinity that is rare today, I never liked Leonardo DiCaprio, he always seems to be Leo, in The Revenant (2015), I just saw 'Leo begging for an Oscar', I even thought Hardy was better in the film.

Not surprised critics have said he is similar to Brando, but his dedication to roles is similar to Robert De Niro.

He is good in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), better than Bale.

Heath Ledger and Brie Larson own the best performances this century.

Going into the previous century, it becomes a toss up. Ledger's performance is on par with Henry Fonda in Once Upon a Time In the West. Ledger's intense insanity and Hank's reptilian coldness.

I've read that audiences nearly shard their undergarments when they first saw who Frank was. His identity was kept secret by Sergio Leone.
