yeah, should have gotten one for end of watch at least. he is prob not A list material according to the people at the oscars.
shareWell most of the films you name weren’t really on the Oscars’ radar, for whatever reason. He came close to a nomination for Nightcrawler whereas the other movies don’t have a single nomination between them.
He has one nomination to date, which is more than many great actors, is still relatively young and I’m sure a role will come along soon enough that hits the Academy sweet spot.
He does deserve an Oscar. Good actor
One issue is that he isn’t afraid to make blockbuster films, like Spider-Man, Prince of Persia, Life etc. Those are the sort of films that the Academy shuns
They Oscar type movies that he's starred in aren't that great as movies, so that's probably a reason.
Also, the Oscars depend a lot on lobbying by the various companies and producers...
But he's an excellent actor and I like that he plays so many different types of roles in different types of movies...
The only nomination he deserved was for nightcrawler.
Jake is good. But stronger and southpaw were Oscar begging performances if i've ever seen
