Since everyone apparently hates her so much....who do you think would have done a better job? If you are a true Breaking Bad fan who watched Breaking Bad from beginning to end the answer is NOBODY. I know people don't like her character, but when a character really gets that much hate that's a pretty GOOD sign the actress is doing a pretty damn good job. So everyone shut up lol.

Once again, people aren't all geniuses--I get that; however, I'm pretty sure anybody over the age of five knows they're watching a character on television. People know it's not some kind of hidden camera show. Just because somebody hates a character doesn't necessarily mean the actor did a great job and conversely, just because somebody likes a character, doesn't mean an actor did a great job.
Like I said in a previous post: there are actors who are praised for portraying dispicable, unlikable characters. In fact, there are characters who play murderers like, Brando, Hopkins, Bale, Pesci, DeNiro, etc. By the OPs logic, we should all hate those characters because they're bad people.

Like most fans of BB, I didn't like Gunn's character, but that didn't mean I didn't like her as an actress. However, once I read her column (posted in the quotes section), I disliked her as a person. Her assumption (like the OP) why people didn't like her character, gave me an idea of what kind of person she is in real life...and I can't stand
her type. She thinks she knows exactly what the reasons are for why people think the way they do. She thinks we don't like her character because we're all sexist, which is BS. It reminds of the way people label all Trump supporters as racist bigots. She doesn't know everybody, yet, because she played the role of Skyler, she thinks she can judge everybody?
I'll tell ya...people really are something.
As far as another actress who could've played Skyler? Pretty much any actress would've succeeded in that role.
The only difference would've been another actress could've made the character less unlikable.
