If he wasn't Mexican, would he even have been nominated?


There have been some great directors and films to come from south of the border, but it really feels like Hollywood's current political and marketing focus is the reason they are cherishing this guy.

Is it Hollywood's attempt to market themselves to a growing market?

You're a frickin moron. The academy hates nominating minorities, evidenced by having all white acting nominees year after year. Inarritu is so good that they still have to nominate him.
