I am a reader of fantasy and SF, but this dude always gave me the creeps.
All of his books seem to be the work of a deeply disturbed imagination and intended to influence young people to a similar mindset. I don't feel this way toward other authors who people have said this about, like Stephen King and J.K. Rowling, etc. But Gaiman really seems to have the intent of "grooming" young lonely, misfit kids into a depressive, sinister worldview with his fiction.
