Speaking from a purely "acting" PoV, Laura positively nailed a very, very difficult character.
A friend was sort of snarking on her performance in "BB", and I told him "No, you don't understand...there was a priceless nuance in her portrayal of Lydia. The sublime undercurrent that needed to be communicated is that the more she tries to be invisible and innocuous, the more attention she draws to herself, and that's a fine line to have to walk. Mike? Nobody would suspect Mike of being anything other than an old guy who orders his pancakes every morning. Lydia, trying to blend in with her gigantic sunglasses, Lydia, with her soy milk and weird sugar requirements, she sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb the more she tries to blend in." As an actor, that's incredibly difficult to bring to the screen, and Laura just freakin' nailed it.
LOVED her in "Titus" as well.
