Has she graduated from NYU yet?

And is or was her major still Psychology?

If she started and finished on time she should have graduated two school years before as she will turn 23 in a month - Dakota started in 2017 and graduated HS at age 17. This means she's had six years to do her degree.

And is or was her major still Psychology?

In an interview done at the end of 2015 she said she was still studying Psychology.

She attends Gallatin which is way more flexible than normal NYU. She created her major and it's psychology but more so studying women in film.

She should have graduated with her peers in 2015 since she started fall 2011 but she chose to not take more than a couple classes at a time and has taken semesters off according to different interviews.

A recent article said this would be her senior year. This means May 2017 she would graduate, if she's still doing classes.

Average person takes 16 semesters. She's taking about 24.

Yeah I'm the one that told you that like fives years ago 

16 semesters is 8 years? 24 semesters is 12? I think you mean 8 semesters is the average, and she's taking 12, right?

Personally, I am on the 9 semester plan (4.5 years) but that's because I didn't get financial aid at my primary institution and transferred. It's strange to see Dakota going to a flexible school and still be in school. I know she's been working but there were some gaps in her movies that I'm sure wouldn't require more than 1 extra year.

I think she is graduating this year.

She definitely took her time and majored in something she already does so not sure what she's achieved from it other than to say she went to college like a "normal" person. Odd.

The decision to go to university was a pragmatic one made on the basis that too many actors become depressed, aimless or lost in the downtime between movies. “You have a concentrated amount of time that’s really busy and then you have a lot of freedom. So what are you going to do?”

I know it's wrong to speculate, but I honestly get the vibe of what Leah said about Dakota going to college to "be a normal person" on the surface, but to go about achieving that in a totally non-normal/special situation type of way.

Well, I personally think that this quote from the Guardian article makes total sense and also explains why it takes her so long to graduate. Going to college was never about getting the diploma as soon as possible, but more about having an occupation during those months in which she is not filming. And since Dakota is studying about "Women in Film", she can maybe later use some of the theoretical knowledge she learnt for the type of movies she plans to direct.
