I don’t think there is less bullying now, there is probably more. Mama Cass never had social media so she didn’t have to hear every persons opinion about her. There is more pushback against it though, sometimes to an extreme. For example, Adele was praised as a fat icon, and those same people turned on her for losing weight.

Bullying is never an option, but on the other hand, we shouldn't celebrate or otherwise "embrace" obesity either.
This is a great response. Some people are fat. Could be their fault, could be for a variety of reasons. Don't belittle them but don't encourage them to be that way. Just leave them alone.
shareI'm not certain the framing of that question is the correct way to address it but I will say that fat acceptance is essentially acceptance of heart disease, cancer and early death.
