How could the fox producers cancel the show?

I love caroline dhavernas , she´s beatiful, smart, funny and wonderfalls is a realy good show, i don´t understand how could the FOX producers cancel the show?. i´m brazilian and i hope caroline come to visit us ´.

I think in one of the special features interview things, the creator said that she was going to go into an asylum in the second season, so it woulda been cool to see if she really does talk to inanimate objects, or if shes crazy.
