Ellen Corby returned to 'The Waltons' after she had a stroke, but she still had to re-prove herself to CBS and disprove the network's worries.

The networks are ALL HEART! They will throw you on the discard pile as fast as they can if they think you've outlived your usefulness.
Ellen Corby gave some of her best performances after the stroke as Grandma Walton struggled to communicate with her family.

I give her all the credit in the world for wanting to come back and work.
