Incredibly Sexy Actor

I always feel an electrical charge when this dude appears on TV. Great actor and a total Adonis. Hot doesn't even begin to describe him.

Interesting that you should say that about him. He actually DID play a Greek god in a Star Trek episode, 'Who Mourns for Adonis".

He is very handsome.

He always appeared in one of my favorite episodes of The Dick van Dyke Show, "The Life and Loves of Joe Coogan." But he played a priest in that one!

reply

He always did well at the Star Trek conventions as he was very engaging with the fans.

He's an extremely friendly and personable guy in real life. I worked with him a few times years ago and we'd meet for coffee semi-regularly in Hollywood. He always had a ton of stories about working on various genre films through the years and was always good-natured and humble about it. I tried to sprinkle most of them around the imdb, such as Shatner standing on his tippy-toes whenever Forest was near him.

I originally set up his facebook "fan page" and handed it over to his wife so she could manage it when it started getting private messages intended for him. Sadly the page completely evaporated automatically then once she passed away, so I'm not even sure how to broadcast Forest's willingness to sign autographs to fans anymore. He always signed anything mailed to him for free as long as people had return-addressed stamped envelopes inside.

If you haven't seen it, there was a fan based continuation of the original crew of Star Trek, and they revisited an aging Apollo played by Michael Forrest. He aged because he needed human adoration to keep young and wasn't getting it.

If you don't want to watch the episode, then watch this segment where Apollo starts de-aging. The makeup department did a great job and Michael looks 40 years younger..

Thanks for those links. I never heard of that show. And I call myself a Trekkie! lol

The actor who played Scotty looked so much like him. I started to wonder if he was a relative. Of course, the opening credits answered my question!

The Kirk actor sure had the Shatner posture down pat.

Michael Forrest looked great with the de-aging.

reply

Yeah it is still one of the better de-aging effects I have seen, and to think it was done on a low budget short from almost a decade ago!

Also a bit of trivia - the woman playing his wife when he first appears was his actual wife, Diana. She has since passed away but Forest seems to be doing okay on his own, though saddened by her passing of course.

She was an actress in her own right, even having a small part in Larry Cohen's IT'S ALIVE. I asked her about it once when we were at a group dinner and she was totally dismissive of the film, saying something like "Oh that old piece of trash...".

I was just watching that episode of Dick Van Dyke about a week and a half ago on MeTV.

“The Life and Loves of Joe Coogan” is one of my favorite Dick van Dyke episodes. It has such a beautiful and touching ending, rather deep for a sitcom.

But before that, the episode is hilarious like when Rob fixes Sally up with a “blind date”.

“Where’s this gorgeous, handsome…. PRIEST you wanted me to meet!”.

Rose Marie just kills it with that line and then she doesn’t want Laura to take her wrap thereby exposing her obviously low cut dress. “It’s kind of chilly in here”.
