Hulk fought King Kong Bundy at Wrestlemania 2. Hulk had his own Saturday morning cartoon before then, so he was already a household name. I would say that Roddy Piper made Hulk a household name. The Hulk/Piper feud is what triggered Wrestlemania to become a thing in the first place.

Bundy was great though. His match with Hulk was legendary.
