gas going up 20 cents a day

Biden economy is trash

reply

I believe that it has hit a new US record under his reign.

reply

Stop whining. It’s $6.15 in Los Angeles and I’m proud to pay it. Fuck Putin. If a couple bucks more for gas is that financially devastating for you, then stop posting here and start working harder.

reply

For people that make minimum wage it is and have kids to feed. High inflation and gas prices isn't going to affect rich people at all.

reply

There’s an article in L.A. Focus about the impact of rising gas prices combined with the historic inflation on basic costs of living in L.A. It focuses on how hard the inflation is hitting black families. One woman says that with pandemic rent increases, the rising gas prices are crushing her. She’s not one of the privileged who can work remotely in her pajamas sitting in front of a computer. Her job requires a commute into Los Angeles and it’s now costing her $80 to fill her tank every few days just for work. Having asphyxiated the flow of domestic petroleum in favor of environmental objectives, the state government could temporarily suspend gas taxes to provide relief. The federal government miserably failed to deter the Russian invasion or mediate a solution. Now, both state and federal government actors simply transfer the entire burden of skyrocketing prices to hard working families

reply

We were energy independent before Biden took office. I am not proud to pay $5.00 a gallon due to Biden being a fucking jack off. If you like taking it in the dumper from your overlord I hereby advocate that you pay for everyone's gas who have been damn near reduced to poverty levels by your sick dementia ridden overlord. And from all the people that are being destroyed by his apathy I believe that I speak for all of them when I say - To hell with you.

reply

This is a big incentive to finally get off dirty fossil fuel once and for all and to reinvest in clean domestic energy independence. Why be beholden to other countries for our gas? Stop trying to justify the Keystone pipeline too. Fossil fuel has been obsolete for several decades. Time to look in a different direction in the 21st century.

reply

Well, thanks for sharing that partner! I'll make sure that I get the word out on Facebook, and twitter, and what have you, and let everyone know that they need to trade in their cars for a brand new $50,000 electric car, and get off of fossil fuels by investing in $150,000 worth of solar panels for their houses. You know, because the poor and middle class have all that money to spend thanks to the BOOMING biden economy. I am SO glad that someone with your superior intelligence is here to lead all of us into the 21 century.

reply

You do realize that the cost to go green will eventually go down as EVs and charging stations become more widespread in this country? At one time not many could afford to buy a gas vehicle until they became so widespread over the 20th century that the costs came down. Think of the flatscreen TV, solar panels, same thing. You need to change your point of view.

reply

You are CNN and MSNBC personified.

reply

whats ironic is that the lithium is mined from the Earth, so we are going to destroy our planet to save it?

what happens when you have millions of EV's plugging into the grid when they get off work?

as of now, 85% - 90% of power comes from coal and natural gas.

reply

Coal is a dying industry. This war has shown just how dependent the world has become relying on oil controlled by autocratic governments who set the prices. All the more reason to reinvest in domestic alternatives.

reply

coal and natural gas is not dying yet. we are still leveling mountains to get to it for now.
if scientists can get nuclear fusion to work, then we would be able to get off fossil fuels, but big oil is definitely against that idea.

agree on big oil, and I have had a lingering question on gas prices.

how do different gas stations all know when to raise prices and why do they all set them at the same price?

is there some sort of group email or something? how do company A and company B know to set the price exactly the same?

profits are in the billions...

reply

So much whining. Stop making excuses and start making money. You sound pathetic.

reply

It’s only a matter of time before we get involved in Russia. SOMETHING has to save Grampa Joe….

reply

So move to another country then. You bitch and bitch yet you stay and pay those prices anyway. Either that or sell your vehicle like Tom Hanks character did in Larry Crowne, and get yourself a nice little Scooter to save cash.

reply

Okay there 5 watt.

reply

So you pay 10 bucks more for a tank of gas. Big deal. No One bitches about ER or doctor bills, or prescriptions.

reply

More like 100 a month (if you fill tank once a week), adding to extra $1200 / yr

reply

Exactly. $1,200 is nothing, so why is everyone complaining? it’s not like jobs are hard to come by these days, so if you REALLY need an extra thousand bucks at the end of the year, just pick up a few extra shifts somewhere else and make it happen. The whining taking place on this board is unbelievable.

reply

Putin really screwed over this country. First he gets Trump elected, and now he raised gas prices globally because of his war

reply

Gas by us just dropped 35 cents in a week. Not as fast as it went up back at least it's starting to settle down now that suppliers have stopped panicking.
