Interview: From Middle-Earth to Midtown Manhattan

Here's RA speaking in an interview with Broadway World. One person at least is already attacking him on Twitter because he's 'treating fans as commodities'. I didn't read it that way but as his enthusiasm for getting people into the theatre, no matter what their reason for coming.

I am also interested in his remark that American audiences talk to each other during a performance, obviously commenting on the play - and that this intrigues him. You would think that the chatter would put actors off their stroke.

That's part of the problem with SM these days, just because you friend someone doesn't actually make them your friend. Same with following someone - they don't know you from Adam if they're a celeb even if you've shaken their hand someplace. And yet somehow "fans" think they have a right to a celeb whether it's at a stage door, a con or just walking around town. People be crazy!
