If he were alive today
What would he be doing, ya think?
shareGetting embroiled in a #metoo scandal. Lennon was not a nice person to a lot of people, women in particular, and I think a lot of that would probably have come out, possibly from Yoko.
shareProbably still supporting the IRA and yet singing about peace
shareA lot of people supported the IRA. A lot of their funding came from the USA.
shareWho cares? Does that make it right?
shareA lot of people cared and believed in what the IRA was doing, to many the British were the aggressors.
shareWhatever you say dude, just don't listen to give peace a chance and remember he supported the IRA at the same time, cognitive dissonance overload
shareThe tans would have loved you, don't ask questions and never hesitate to lick a boot.

Resurrected: With all of the controversy about the singing of a certain song by celebrities, I was also shocked by how many people think the person who sang it was some kind of saint. There was a recent movie ("Yesterday") that made it seem as if he were too. The foreign born permanent A list singer (John Lennon) was a serial woman beater and even admitted he had never been in a relationship where he didn't beat the women he was with on a regular basis. He also beat his kids (Julian and Sean Lennon). Not a spanking, but full on hitting them. He was a serial cheater who took advantage of every opportunity that came his way. The first wife (Cynthia Lennon) got cheated on with the woman who became the second wife (Yoko Ono) who watched helplessly as he had a years long affair (May Pang) while also sleeping with other woman. When the wife would say something about it, he would beat her. "Yesterday"/John Lennon/Julian and Sean Lennon/Cynthia Lennon/Yoko Ono/May Pang (Yesterday (2019 film)) (You Don't Have to 'Imagine' John Lennon Beat Women and Children—It's Just a Fact (Lennon revealed that as a teen he bore sexual desires for his mother. He later regretted not having made a move on her, saying, "Presumably, she would have allowed it.")) (Two sides of Lennon reflected in his sons ("Sean was the product of love," John Lennon is reported to have once told a young Julian. "You were the product of a whiskey bottle.")) But he had flaws too
shareHe would be best friends with Howard Stern and would be a regular on his show. He would comment on world events and be admired and loved by everyone. He would be cherished and treated with the respect of a king among men. At the same time, he would have made a lot of great music since 1980. Just imagine all that great music from 1980 to now....
shareIm sure very active in this new Protest of the Day culture, Im afraid almost to the point of annoyance.
And I happen to be a mighty big Lennon Fan for 40+yrs
Nah, he was already a bit over that before he was killed. He seemed much more cynical and jaded by 1980. Did you read the Rolling Stone interview?
shareYes I did, and Yes you're kinda right.
Im sure he would have participated in Anthology, and would have gotten together at least time with the others
>>Im sure he would have participated in Anthology
Yeah, that would have been great. They did a remarkable job including him in the series, though. And like Ringo said, he was just out buying a cup of coffee.
I personally don't think the Beatles would have ever officially gotten back together; however I do think they would have performed together again (like for a benefit concert or something). I feel as though the press would have always been pitting John and Paul against one another had he lived.
shareThere is no contest, John was the talent, though he was odious as a parent and clearly lacking discernment in anything but music.
shareHe and the rest of the surviving Beatles would be performing daily at Caesars doing their “Beatles hits and splits comedy show and circus” featuring the worlds best jugglers and trapeze artists.
The gran finale being when he and yoko are shot out of the cannon.
Interesting answers. I think he and Yoko may have split at some point. I think he would have come forward on some issues over the years - anti Gulf war, anti Iraq war, certainly anti Trump and his immigration policies. I think 9/11 would have had a profound effect on him since he would probably still have been living in NYC. I think a casual Beatles reunion may have happened at some point, maybe in connection with an important cause. He would still be contributing musically and maybe doing more as a visual artist and poet. There were times over the years where I wished he were still here to interpret all the worries and changes of this fast paced world in a way only his unique and eloquent voice could have spoken.
shareVery well said. I kinda think he would still be with Yoko though, not necessarily out of love but more for her benefit than his. That's just my opinion though. I agree with everything else you said on here. I believe you summed up perfectly where he'd been today.
