After watching the Huckabees videos, I now love Lily Tomlin (and Dustin Hoffman) even more. They are both so excellent.
My favorite part is the little chuckle that she does at about 1:54 in the office set video (right before the director flies back in through the prop door); it's so cute, but she doesn't even flinch when mere seconds later he gets up into her face again.
Just so you know, in my world Lily Tomlin can do no wrong.
For me I look at both their histories. This seems to be an isolated incident for Lily -- at least nothing like this has come out before. But Russell has a history of abusive behavior. He has actually physically assaulted people as well as verbally abused them on set; not just actors, but crew as well as extras. George Clooney told of an incident where Russell threw an extra to the ground and screamed at him for being worried about what Russell was asking him to do in an upcoming scene. When George tried to get Russell to back off, Russell physically went after George. I guess in this respect, Lily should be relieved he didn't get more physical with her. But if this is his modus operandi, maybe Lily finally blew like George did.
