Gene simply has developed a larger than life persona. The brand the OG’s built and have nurtured over the decades is brilliant. Frankly....he NEEDS to be over the top and cocky. Who the fuck wants a quiet and polite Gene/Demon??
Gene has done a lot of good for his family and charity behind the scenes. If his rock/public persona is loud...and brash...and cocky....bring it on! After all, it’s Gene effin Simmons!
When you watch a Steven Segal movie, you know what you’re gonna get. When you go to a KISS concert.....you know what you’re gonna get. Is Gene as rude or cocky as Ozzy at his peak? Axle? Mick?
Don’t worry....the loud, brash and cocky rock legends will be gone soon, replaced by a generation the woke police will be monitoring carefully. There won’t be any personalities or outlaws left in rock and roll. Pity.

Much of his talent is in marketing and branding. A little Jewish kid, born in Israel, raised in Brooklyn....the odds of him becoming a mainstream rock star in one of the most iconic rock bands in the world....were slim. But he worked with what he had....and he created and nurtured a brand, and turned it into one of the most recognized brands of all time. As a bass player...he doesn’t NEED to be fantastic. He just needs to hold down a beat. However...as a performer and front man.....he happens to be one of the best ever. Not bad.
