I can't bear to look at her

I feel terrible that this even bothers me, but in the new promos for In Plain Sight they zoom right up in her face and she just looks terrible. She used to look so normal and now, egads! I just can't take her seriously in this show when she acts silly and goofballs around when her face looks like that. It's not just her lips, either. But I feel like her character would make fun of her in real life, and every time she makes a crack about someone to Marshall I think, but have YOU looked in a mirror? I also find it hard to accept it when random characters call her hot. I feel like it was just written into the script to stroke MM's ego. Because I think she looks like Skeletor. On the show, anyway.

I really hate it when naturally pretty girls aren't satisfied with just being pretty. (Cold Case's Kathryn Morris did the same to her face.) I know it's Hollywood and all that, but the plastic surgery is so obvious, and her character would never do that to herself. I used to think of her as a serious actress, but how can you play an "everyday woman" sort of character when most sane women don't do such things to their faces? It's definitely a distraction. I looked through her photos and she was really pretty on the red carpet last summer--gorgeous, really--so what happened? Is it possible she does this business to her lips right before filming for the new seasons begin because she thinks it looks good? Surely duck lips are not preferable over natural lips of any size. And before anyone asks what I look like, I know I'm super-mean, but I would never criticize her if she hadn't chosen this for herself.

Off-topic, but I still can't forgive Mary for the things she said to Jinx and Brandi in the season one finale. She was so self-righteous and unapologetic, and maybe that's why I pick at her face. I just can't watch someone--even a character--judge others when she's done weird crap to her face.
