some insight into why she went downhill

I think Hollywood is partly to blame for her depression. Natasha is beautiful, but does not fit Hollywood's 1-dimensional view of how women should look. So she doesn't get the plum Hollywood roles, or if she does, they're tiny parts in crapola like American Pie. She's great in the indies, and I'm sure she loves doing them, but I'm sure she wanted to be more acknowledged by Hollywood. And even in the indies (independent film) there's competition, so she doesn't get all the roles she wants. And if acting is what you love to do, how should you feel when hardly anyone lets you do it? Crummy, that's how. And then add her father, a couple of bad boyfriends, maybe a chemical imbalance, and you've got problems. Some people cope well with life's problems; some turn to drugs. Unfortunately, Natasha did the letter, and let's not forget how much easier it is to become a drug addict when you have the money/access to do so. I just sense this is not a girl with healthy self-esteem, so she's abusing her body. I don't worry about the Hep C or even the collapsed lungs as much as I do that heart ailment. That is very serious, and the fact that she neglected it so long makes it all the worse. And shooting up drugs (if that is what she did) means she could have AIDS as well. Very scary. My heart aches for her. I pray for Natasha, and let's hope there is a positive update soon.

Thank you because I was thinking the same thing. I like Natasha as an actress, but I don't know her personally and I wonder why if the OP knows her personally. What Natasha does with her life is her own business, she makes her own choices just like everyone else.
