worst song?

don't go breaking my heart.

reply

Don't like it much, but don't really hate it either.

I think just about anything from the late 70s/early 80s would be the worst.

reply

i hated it from day one.

Passengers.

It’s a silly song but I still kind of like it. Same goes for Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.

There’s probably more than a few dud album tracks over his 200 year career.. but overall I can listen to Elton’s greatest hits without skipping a single track.

I’m not so hot on the Britney duet honestly.. but mostly because I think it’s lazy of him to rehash old songs for the edm audience.

reply

I love EJ, have all his albums and have seen him many times. I wouldn’t say I dislike Passengers, it’s just my least favourite.

reply

That one and the Cold Heart one with Dua Lipa. I mean he's making money, but I'm not loving them.

reply

he has run out of ideas like most songwriters.

reply

I don't know if it's that songwriters have run out of ideas, or that if you are signed with a label, that label wants catchy, sounds like everything else music. There is still a lot of good music being made independently. You might have better luck on Bandcamp finding it than you would on Spotify or Apple though.

I loved Passengers, it was the first Elton John record I bought, the vinyl cover art was striking. I have that song in my head now. 🙂

i can see why

It’s heavily influenced by a South African folk song, but the light hearted video doesn’t help.

Anything from The Lion King. Just awful!

Someone obviously can’t feel the love tonight 🤨

candle in the wind

reply

I love the original but hated the fact that he used it for the Diana tribute. He couldn’t get Bernie to help him write something especially for her??

reply

Hate Candle in the Wind 1997 for the exact same reason, I must have been the only person in Britain who didn’t buy it, it sure felt like it, but I love the 1986 live version.

reply

I've always hated Bennie and the Jets. Never understood the love.

reply

Oh you’ll LOVE this then..
