What happened?
He was supposed to be the next big thing. He had some good roles and then things went south. I think he's decent enough. I really enjoyed him in Boogie Nights. So what went wrong??

shareHe's actually pretty good in the Expanse. Makes the show really. In pretty much everything else, he's been a fairly competent journeyman actor.
shareI know I am late to the party, but he turned down some good roles (he was suppose to play a prominent second role in Magnolia, but chose to star in Under Suspicion, which was a box office flop. He also turned down the role of Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead). His DUI arrest did not help and for the most part he stars in supporting roles in mid-budget movies. I still think he is good when in the right movie and role.
shareHe had his 10 years at "the top" from 1997 to 2007. He failed to generate solid BO results. Hollywood and the world moved on. Hes a great actor but now works for scale independent low bud productions.
shareYeah, he definitely had his “15 minutes”, but he’s still out and about in the movie/tv scene.
I’d recommend “1922” - A more recent starring role on Netflix, based on a Stephen King short story. IMO, surprisingly very good flick.
One of my favorite films are : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1691920/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_42
Jane is amazing in this. Piven too.

It's not just the female actors who get shelved at a certain age.
shareThe medium of film charged. Most of the film he came up on are not being made anymore. Director Lawrence Kasdan blamed the BO failure of Dreamcatcher in 2003 on Thomas Jane and this stalled his career but not enough to halt it. Lawrence Kasdan was at the time a powerful Movie Mogul Jew.
Thomas Jane last studio film was The Mist. He is working actor now. He works for money to put food on the table.
Look at Tom Sizemore, he has fallen way lower!
