a break after fringe?

It looks like he's taking a break. He did the same after Dawson's Creek.

This is a much longer "break", though. Fringe finished filming last December. He didn't take 7 months of unemployment after Dawson's Creek.

No, he didn't take 7 months, he took 2 years! Except for a minor role in a movie, that seems to have been filmed about the same time as DC, he took a very long break.

I hope it doesn't take him that long to go back to work this time!

Wrong. He didn't take two years. Check his filmography and get back to me. Dawson's Creek ended in 2003, and he made several films in 2003-2004. Some of the movies he made (like Aurora Borealis, which he was a lead) was made in late 2003 but released in 2005. He filmed Americano briefly after finishing DC. Even if some of his work was small, it was something. He hasn't done a single thing (not even a guest spot) since Fringe ended filming last December.

I don't know when those movies were filmed, I just see a 2-year gap, but I'll take your word for it

He's in a serious relationship now. Diane only did a few projects while Josh was doing Fringe. She lived with him during filming and then they traveled during the summer. I'm fairly certain he sees it as his turn to support her career now while enjoying some down time. I have no doubt he'll pick up a new and worthy project when he's ready.

DK did more than a few projects while Joshua was on Fringe.

DK did more than a few projects while Joshua was on Fringe. She did on average 2 projects a year. Most were very small, the only considerable ones being Inglorious Basterds and Unknown, and most were while working around Josh's schedule. That's all I was saying.
