I don't like Orson Bean since he was a right-wing hack in his later years ...

I don't appreciate moderator 5 deleting my post trying to tell me how I am supposed to feel about that, or making sure no one else knows it. There are others who felt the same who replied to my post.

As I said, there are some celebrities who are doing and supporting bad things behind a happy face, and it is an important issue to talk about and discuss. It's not right for a moderator to twist the rules of this site because he or she might disagree.

To wit, "#2 - No trolling, flaming, spamming or unsolicited advertising."

This post is not any of those. Where do I appeal that decision to?

That was the post where you went on a micro-rant about how you hoped he was roasting in hell, right?

Look, I'm not saying your feelings aren't valid or that the post should (or shouldn't) have been taken down, but I'm guessing that the reporting/deletion of the post has to do with the level of aggression displayed in reference to a recently dead person.

You also highlighted his right-wing views as the reason you hoped he burned in hell, so that could have been perceived as a trolling or flaming thing? I don't know; I don't make the rules here.

You have a point there, but go over the Breitbart website sometimes and see the level of discourse there ... Breitbart, who was married to Orson Bean's daughter before he dropped dead of a heart attack for just being a mean miserable person. You learn a lot by reading what these people say, and pulling punches to be polite about someone because they recently died ... well, guess I don't see it as a big deal.

It's not like there are not a whole lot of posts on this site every minute that are annoying to someone. If you cannot moderate fairly and consistently it is not fair to pick on people that just the moderator disagrees with. I mean I could randomly select a comment and after just a few I would run into something that violates that nebulous terms of service.

I don't mean moderation is not needed, and I am not that upset the comment was deleted ... I just try to say the same thing in a better way without so much emotion perhaps. It's a hard job to moderate a site like this, but I think it is better, in my opinion, to stick to the stuff that is really obvious, and a lot of that stuff is missed. It's gotta be more fun to delete stuff you disagree with.

If I was a moderator I would probably be deleting pro-Trump comments ... assuming there was something wrong with them ... I am not that partisan. Most of them start out with some insult of Liberals or Democrats, and they are just ignored and let to stand.

I've been doing more reading about Orson Bean, and while I can still appreciate his work strictly as an actor, I'm utterly appalled by the extremes of his later-in-life beliefs. So your deleted post did me a service.

What were the extremes?
All I saw was that he was a conservative and that he thought anyone conservative had to stay in the closet to keep working in Hollywood..kinda true.

Yeah just recently on facebook all I posted was a meme of the president with the word "acquitted" above it and someone who I hadn't talked to in a while sent me a hate filled racist response saying that I am of low moral character simply because I agree with the president and if you like the president then you hate blacks, LGBTQ, women, etc. and then said that I couldn't possibly understand because I'm a "white male" (racist statement) and it's "not my pussy he grabbed" (pretty sure he didn't grab her pussy either, why anyone would want to is beyond me)

Yeah I don't allow hate speech on my wall so that message was deleted and that person was unfriended and blocked. I don't hate her, I mean I want nothing more to do with her but I feel really sorry for her and I hope she gets help.

If you don't like Orson Bean, then don't visit his board. I don't like you, so I try to avoid you as much as possible. The fact that you choose to use the ignore button on every poster you don't like, shows you have no self control whatsoever. You're an immature, whining brat.
