TPTB casted Jessica Alba almost a year before they started shooting Dark Angel. During this time Jessica Alba has had to undergo a very strict training program in order to get fit for the role. During the time between season 1 and 2 of Dark Angel she had a kidney infection which forced her to a strict diet and which caused her to lose even more weight.
