I absolutely adore this song, but I don't know if it's actually underrated.

It's very catchy and lyrically brilliant; aged well and still worth listening to on repeat. I think it's one of those songs you have to STOP yourself from listening to otherwise you won't stop listening to it.

I was just about to make a post on this song, honestly.

Also, although the chorus does indeed go "Ooh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien, I'm an Englishman in New York", for a long time, I thought it was something like "Ooh our millennium, our elite millennium, I learned English mine in New York", lol.

Oh and the song is apparently about Quentin Crisp, a gay icon who moved to America, New York, from Britain, and it was sung from his perspective.

Very interesting info.... especially about Quentin Crisp.

He seems like an interesting fellow I may have to do a bit of research on in my free time.

He and Sting acted in the film THE BRIDE.

Oh wow, I never even heard of that film before. Weird because I usually like Jennifer Beals stuff, and was always fascinated with Sting as an actor, but never knew they were in a Frankenstein flick together.

Thanks for that bit of info, I've added it to my watchlist!
