I had no idea he was British!

I had watched his show a couple of times and never would have known that he is British until I saw him on Ellen Degeneres today. At first I thought it was a joke, really I did.
I do like the show, I just don't have the time to watch everything I would like to.

Junglemanchild, thank you for the clarification. I knew that Wales, Scotland and England were on the same island, but I didn't know that the entire island is called GB. I was confused on the whole UK, GB thing and now I know that the UK includes Northern Ireland. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me.

I can defintitely hear different accents, but I don't think I could tell the difference between a Scottish or Welsh accent. I know that for you it is very obvious. I have watched movies before where I had to put the subtitles on because I had a tough time understanding the accents. They were speaking English, but the accent was so different that I had a difficult time. I'm sure if I spent any amount of time in Great Britain I'd be able to eventually distinguish the difference. In the meantime, pardon my ignorance!

I live in California. What did you mean by America speaks English all over except in CA? We do have people from all over the world that reside here, but most speak English. As for the Canadians, the accent is clear to us but I can see where it would be difficult to distinguish for you. I've noticed that overseas the Canadians make it very clear that they aren't from the US, usually by wearing a maple leaf that is visible to everyone. I know it would get wearisome for them to repeatedly say that they aren't from the US.

Englishrosebuddy, you sound very sweet. Thank you!
