The actor has seemingly grown tired of fans still greeting him with Joey's catchphrase "How you doin'?" and he reportedly became enraged during a London Fashion Week party on Tuesday when he heard the iconic comment, according to the Daily Mirror.

He reportedly ranted, "I'm not Joey. Don't you dare call me Joey. The papers say I'm finished so don't you call me *beep* Joey. I want to leave that all behind. I'm moving on... I'm not Joey. For the last time. I'm not *beep* Joey. It's Matt. Matt LeBlanc. Joey's in the past. I'm trying to do something new."

I read that article today and thought it was really mean of them

I genuinely feel pity for him the way his careers down the *beep*

Ugh, great. Another actor whose work I like turns out to do or say something douchey. I know, I know, we're not all perfect, but *sighs*

I'm taking this with a grain of salt because I wasn't there, but even if that quote is verbatim... IDK, on one hand I can see where he's coming from, on the other it's like, really? Really, Matt? You're upset that people are repeating catchphrases and still referring to you as a character you played for 10 years, so maybe you should have spent more time working other projects instead of signing up to play said character for two extra years on a show with him as the main character, instead of, I don't know, maybe trying to break out of that mold and getting audiences to see different sides of you. This is why I need to stop coming to the IMDB boards, because sometimes ignorance is bliss.

So, yeah. I still love Joey, but this was disappointing, to say the least. Stay pressed, Matt, and keep publicly ranting like a five-year-old about something you pretty much did to yourself. That won't alienate the fans or anything.

ETA: lol now I'm embarrassed because this is apparently a few weeks old. Hopefully it was just a 'had a bad day' kind of thing and he's gotten over himself since then, or at least taken things into perspective.

ahhhh bless his poor heart,he has no acting career.It must be so tough havig to think of the 100 or so million he is worth and what to do with it.
