Personally I thought the fact that Solaris was good saved Solaris ... but yes, Jeremy was good also.

I found Solaris to be one of the most interesting and compelling Sci-Fi films in years. Soderbergh and Cameron should work together more often because that's just a dream of a production team, and Clooney and Davies and Viola Davis, whom I've never heard of, and McElhone (spelling) were all terrific. I don't think Davies "saved" the movie. For Clooney, it is a career performance. He reached into depths that he's never tapped before. But yes, Davies is a wonderful actor. I'm a big fan, and though some don't enjoy his peculiar style, I find it to be very interesting. Everything seems so improvised and stylized. He's an interesting actor and a talent that bears watching in the coming years.

You thought him the best actor, huh are you crazy nopoor?..

I think Davies is very under-estimated as an actor. As Upham in "Saving Private Ryan", he really made me mad at him. I wanted to punch his character out, which in essence, is that he caused an emotional stir in me, which is what a good actor is supposed to do. I liked him as well in "Ravenous".

He's an excellent actor; very natural and likable.

PS - Solaris was a great movie, with or without him.

Very haunting.
