Anyone else can't help but pronounce her last name as...

... CHAMPION as opposed to CAMPION, AND DID anyone else like me at first thought that THAT was her ACTUAL name, Jane Champion, before reading it close and figuring out its "Campion".

P.S. One very intelligent user wrote in a review of one of her films, "Holy Smoke" (1999), that because he considers it an awful movie, to list everything that is wrong with it would actually be sadistic to its director - Jane Campion, but question is, IS IT, really?

I mean, if a person made a lot of mistakes on their work, isn't it the right and duty of an assessor and teacher to highlight them all, no matter how "painful" it might ultimately be, so to use the word "sadistic" in this case, is a little off track.

I mean, if someone broke the law and the sentence was correct without any reductions, is that also "sadistic" or just being dutiful and doing your job?

But anyways...

Peter Davison, of Doctor Who fame, once played an Edwardian sleuth called Campion, so no, OP, I didn't think that bitch was called Champion at all. Heck, her latest mugshot on the BBC makes her look as ugly as fuck. And I don't give a toss about her, as I've never heard of her before that stupid Bafta win.

I thought I was the only one who remembered the Campion books, which face it, were an imitation of Lord Peter Wimsey!

There's also a flower called Campion.
