I don’t follow Rob Reiner, but I do follow Elijah. Scrolling through the main page of Twitter showed me Rob’s tweet, and it said “liked by Elijah Wood” above it, so Robs tweet was recommended to me based on a separate follow.
So why follow him if you think he’s brain dead?

I can’t imagine caring enough about what any celebrity thinks to follow them on Twitter. There’s only a select few who I find interesting enough as people, and those ones routinely keep their political opinions to themselves and just concentrate on being entertainers.
Under the present circumstances, he's sadly right.
I believe in democracy and a multi, or at least two, party system, and if the GOP was dominated by people like Romney, the late John McClain and the Bushes, I'd say he was wrong, as much as I personally despise conservatism. But for the last decade or so, it's been dominated by far-right cranks and bigots, and populists like Trump who may not personally believe half the nonsense he campaigns for, but is nevertheless egregiously courting the votes of white supremacists and alt-right fascists.
Elijah Wood is an intelligent person.
