I don’t really know him but I feel he jumped on the bandwagon to try and take a swing at me & created a story to buoy up sales of his book.

It seems like everybody ever involved with "Star Trek" has to have their "Shatner was mean to me" story, even if they have to make it up. Takei has turned it into a half-century industry.
