Which of his two Tarantino performances did you prefer? I thought his role as Ruth was one of the highlights of Hateful 8 along with Jackson, Goggins, and Jason Leigh but man, Stuntman Mike makes me really enjoy watching Death Proof, which is one of the weaker Tarantino films IMO. He was just so damn fun to watch in that movie so I'd probably go with Stuntman Mike.

shareStuntman Mike is a complex character as I believe he is indeed Tarantino in some ways. QT with his love for forgotten film, great dialogue, practical effects and shooting on real film stock among other things is a dying breed in current cinema. Stuntman Mike is in a similar situation as a stunt man in a world of CGI. Look at the cars he drives, they are dying out too. Remember when he talks to the girls in the bar about the movies? They have never heard of them because they are too obscure. Stuntman Mike is definitely traveling the same road as Tarantino.
Another thing about the character is that Mike is a serial killer who uses his car, the way a killer in the old slasher genres would use a knife. Stuntman Mike is a unique character no doubt, and is my favorite of the two.
