If The Wrestler was Mickey Rourke’s comeback, why hasn’t he done any other significant movies since?

Well, maybe other than other than Iron Man II.

do you have a link or a video for that?

Hard to work with and he's propably kind of a dickhead. He also ruined his looks so I'd imagine it's hard to cast him in anything serious. He was great when he was younger.

Mickey Rourke is not relevant. In 2022 very few would pay to see a Mickey Rourke film. He had his time in the starlight. His career has come and gone.

I would say that his roles in the Sin City series, and Iron Man 2 were significant…but I would guess that he isn’t the most easy actor to work with, or maybe he really isn’t hobnobbing for work.

I think that if he REALLY wanted to work, he wouldn’t have a problem finding a role. I mean, he obviously has heavy-hitter connections, so I think he’s probably consumed by something else at the moment.

Probably same thing as Katherine Heigl. Some people are not interested in or capable of playing the Hollywood politics the right way

Here are a bunch of Mickey Rourke quotes about Hollywood politics...

"The better guy doesn’t always get the job in the movie business, you know. That’s because there’s a lot of politics involved."

"In the end, the Oscar should be about the acting. But there is a lot of grey, a lot of politics involved and a lot of interests. I did all I could do. Whatever happens, happens. I want to keep moving forward. There are always things that happen as the years go by, but I can't complain. I'm still standing."

"I look at these guys like Matt Damon, George Clooney, Sean Penn — they're all very bright, educated guys who understand that it's a business and there's politics involved. I wasn't educated or aware enough. I thought I was so good I didn't have to play the game, and I was terribly wrong."

"It's getting easier. You realize this business is political. That may have been hard for me to do twenty years ago but I’m kind of accepting it. It’s all about making the dollar. At the end of the day, there’s just so much politics involved. Any time money is involved, there’s a lot of gray. It’s not really black and white, you know? You don’t know who’s blowin’ smoke up your @ss."

"I saw that so much politics was involved with moviemaking. I thought it was all about hard work and actors like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. But you can be mediocre and still be a movie star. To me, when I learned that, it ruined everything. Then I hated it. I went off the tracks right away. Even now, look at some of the young movie stars today from the United States — they are sh!t. The best guys are coming out of the United Kingdom and Australia."

"When you’ve been on the bench for over 10 years like I have, you’re very gun-shy of even saying you’re back. People go “Travolta had a big comeback…” Well, yeah, but he didn’t raise f#cking hell for 15 years, you know? He was welcomed back with both arms. There’s politics involved with me, too. It’s not just the work."

Interesting quotes - thanks. I have no love for Mickey Rourke but it's a shame (and a surprise) that it took him so long to realise how much politics plays in getting the roles, getting the nominations, and getting the awards.
