WTF Happened to Gwyneth Paltrow?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR9uNXAteHQ

Gwyneth Paltrow was one of the most iconic stars of the nineties. She was the original “It Girl,” with her a familiar sight on magazine covers and shows like Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight, which celebrated her pairing with the “It Guy” of the moment, Brad Pitt. It’s easy to see why she captured the public’s imagination, delivering a slew of solid performances in some of the most iconic indie flicks of the nineties. From playing Brad Pitt’s doomed wife in Se7en to sporting an English accent in the hip Jane Austen adaptation Emma to winning an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love, people were obsessed with Paltrow.

In recent years, Paltrow’s taken a bit of a step back from acting, but not before winning a whole new generation of fans as Pepper Potts in the MCU’s Iron Man. These days, she’s known more for her wellness and lifestyle brand Goop. While some of the products, such as the now infamous Jade eggs, are much mocked, Goop is currently worth somewhere in the neighbourhood of $250 million, so clearly, Paltrow was a trailblazer in this regard, with many clubs following her lead with their own lifestyle brands.

In this episode of WTF Happened to this Celebrity, written (with Brad Hamerly), produced and narrated by Taylor James Johnson (and edited by Adam Walton), we look at Gwyneth Paltrow’s career.

She was never that talented

Shakespeare In Love PROVED that Oscars can be bought Weinstein paid out a lot of dough for those Oscars

Before she was Pepper Potts, she was Polly Perkins in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004)!

Basically, she got older, weirder, and decided to "retire" from acting and make weird, creepy, overpriced products to sell from her own business. As if she needed more money after all the royalties she gets in the mail on a daily basis!

So it's safe to say you never bought one of her candles that smelled like her goodies?

reply

I heard about them online and was soooo grossed out! No way I'd buy that crap.
