I agree. She's more beautiful and talented than Julia Roberts by far, and she definitely deserves more roles in movies.

I think, though, unlike Roberts, Julia Ormond isn't really interested in being too much in the spotlight. She's mentioned wanting to do bigger, better things for the world, such as managing charity foundations and being an active participant in a crusade to save the homeless, sickly, and downtrodden people of third world nations. For this, I admire and respect Ms. Ormond more than I can ever admire or respect anyone else in the entertainment industry.

Thank you for the info on what Julia does in her time away from films.
She is so gifted and so very lovely. She probably donates a significant portion
of her salary to worthy causes, which is indeed admirable.
Most of what comes out of Hollywood is crap these days, so it's just as well that she is not playing any fluff parts. Let's face it. It's better to be in a handful of quality projects than a ton of flops. Even the best actors have had to participate in low quality films to stay in the public eye, or atleast to practice their craft.
Here's to keeping our fingers crossed that Julia will get some scripts that are
worthy of her!

i've noticed Julia Ormond tends to go for artistic and challenging roles that is why is isnt a superstar.

And i also think that she is very grounded and sensible.

Ms. Ormond may not be a superstar, but I think many will be surprised by the astounding number of devoted fans she still has (myself, for example). Though she may not be a high profile actress, her work does not go unnoticed, nor her talented unheeded. I think people often mistake her disappearance from the limelight as a sign of her failure, but Julia herself has been quoted in saying that she is extremely content with doing what she ultimately chose to do: Lead a normal, but nevertheless successful life. I have every confidence that, should she so wish, Julia still has the potential to BE a superstar. Hollywood is not foolish enough to give up on beautiful, classy, and extremely gifted women. The point is, however, that she does not CHOOSE to be. Instead, the admirable Ormond has given her time, talent, and energy to assisting causes bigger than stripping for the camera or portraying characters that are as forgettable as they are unlikable. For all this and more, I truly commend her.

Of course, I wouldn’t mind seeing her in a few more movies…
